embedded in the IDC2000 : vs. DALI

PLC-Link© Communication Method vs. DALI
The
Embedded PLC modem PLC-Link©, supplies exclusively fast and
reliable two-way communication between any network devices over
Power Line, without any additional wiring.

From the above table one can see that:
- Systel
PLC does not need rewiring in retrofit. DALI does.
DALI installation is therefore expensive.
- DALI is
at a "room" system level because of its addressability
limitation.
Systel PLC is practically unlimited addressing wise, and it
is therefore at the system level.
- Systel
PLC set of commands emulates the DALI set of commands, thus
DALI programming is transportable into Systel PLC
- Systel
PLC has ERCC and therefore the communication has controlled
command error rates

SYTRL400 – A PLC test report
A test report presenting the characterization test results of the Power Line Carrier (PLC) Modem embedded in the IDC2000 ICs family. This report also includes the results of the communication test performed using the PLC transceivers in the wall control and the ballast reference designs of Systel's Lighting Evaluation Kit based on the IDC2000 ICs. This report also describes the test method applied and includes the Bit Error Rate (BER) versus S/N achieved in the communication test.
